The historic town of Kenilworth in Warwickshire, where Syscomm is based is one of the first locations in the country to be enabled with the super fast Fibre Optic Broadband technology known as Fibre to the Cabinet.
Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) technology is the most exciting recent development in communications in the UK, and vastly improves the speed and stability of ADSL broadband technology, opening up the door for businesses to adopt advanced IT solutions to improve their competitiveness and develop their businesses. The London School of Economics estimates that the FTTC technology will lead to the creation of 280,000 new jobs through small business growth, which the Federation of Small Businesses estimates will add £18bn to UK GDP.
Syscomm have seen the benefits of this technology first hand across Kenilworth and Warwick. We have upgraded customer ADSL lines that could support only 3 Meg downstream, and less than 0.5 Meg upstream, to FTTC technology which is now delivering 38 Mbps downstream and 8 Mbps upstream in speed tests. This Fibre broadband technology has massively enhanced our customer’s remote access VPN solutions and given them heightened confidence to adopt Voice over IP and Cloud Computing solutions to improve their competitiveness in a connected world.
By delivering the FTTC service over lossless Fibre Optic cable into the Green Cabinets at the road side, and then by copper over only the last few metres into the premises, it is now possible with FTTC to deliver high performance connectivity to businesses irrespective of their distance from the telephone exchange. This also makes the service far more stable than legacy ADSL that was delivered over old copper cabling some kilometres long.
Syscomm are committed to this Fibre Optic technology and the benefits it brings to local businesses and education establishments in rural Warwickshire, many of which have struggled with slow connectivity in rural business parks and on the outskirts of Warwickshire’s towns. To promote the technology and its benefits to the Warwickshire economy we are offering FREE connectivity and installation of all of our Managed Fibre Optic Broadband Services until the end of February 2011.
Fibre to the Cabinet is available to order TODAY across Warwick, Kenilworth, Solihull, Nuneaton, Hinckley and Earlsdon, and the FTTC rollout is due to complete in Rugby, Leamington and Knowle before the end of 2010, with many more exchanges across the region being upgraded throughout 2011.
