The 1000 Mb/s Ethernet (known as Gigabit) is now being
implemented in many corporate and public networks.
It is enabling the development of Ethernet beyond
the local area network to encompass the metro area
network where even higher speed backbones are required.
The 10,000 Mb/s (10 Gigabit) Ethernet
draft standard is nearing completion. 10 Gigabit Ethernet
is different from earlier Ethernet standards in that
it will only function over optical fiber in full-duplex
mode.
Ethernet's popularity is such that it
has become the de facto standard and is now
provided on most new personal computers - this is
making Ethernet an increasingly cost effective alternative
over previous networking systems.
Syscomm implement Ethernet networks
for customers large and small, from single switches
to Campus solutions of over 1000 ports. As business
partners of a number of leading Ethernet equipment
manufactures including Allied Telesyn, Cisco, HP and
Nortel, Syscomm is able to provide its clients with
network designs and implementations tailored to their
business needs.
