includes adapters that support and auto-negotiate
to 4, 16 or 100 Mbps Token Ring and are available
with a PCMCIA, PCI or small form-factor PCI interface.

Madge have developed an advanced UniDriver
that supports all of the Madge Token Ring adapter
cards. The cost of ownership is reduced as a result
and a painless deployment of adapter cards throughout
complex networks can be enjoyed. This fully featured
driver package has a wide range of operating system
support including UNIX, OS/2, Apple and is 'signed
and certified' for compatibility with all versions
of Microsoft Windows from 95 upwards.
Wire Speed connectivity using these
cards enables users to develop and protect their existing
investments in Token Ring whilst delivering the performance
required by the latest and most data-intensive applications.

mirroring, PCI Hot-Plug, full-duplex connectivity

The Madge Smart MK4 adapter offers
its users the best possible Token Ring connection,
and is the perfect choice for implementation
into high end servers and workstations running
data-intensive applications. The chipset supports
the latest innovations in adapter control, including
advanced power management and remote control
services to offer a future proof strategy that
builds on any existing Token Ring infrastructure.

This is the only Madge card to
offer full-duplex 100 Mbps High Speed Token
Ring into the desktop or server, but is also
fully compatible with full-duplex and shared
connectivity at 16/4 Mbps Ring speeds. The Madge
UniDriver supports this card and provides support
for the card in Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and
XP environments. The drivers are also compatible
with DOS, OS/2, Apple and UNIX (UNIX, Solaris,
HP-UX and Linux.) The unit has LED's mounted
on the back bracket to facilitate basic diagnostics,
which is supplemented by the online user guide
and diagnostics.

Madge RapidFire
3140 16/4 PCI Adapter ( 3140-2010 and 31-04
)

The Madge RapidFire range provides
the best price to performance ratio of the two
PCI adapters available. As with the MK4, it
too it available in both a full sized PCI architecture
and a low profile design, although this adapter
will only function on a Token Ring operating
at 16/4 Mbps. The unit is efficient, offering
wire speed Token Ring performance for a very
low CPU overhead but also retains the benefit
being compatible with the latest power and remote
management services.

The RapidFire adapter is extremely
easy to install and configure; installation
is simple using 'Plug and Play' and establishing
a network connection is made painless as a result
of the automatic Ring speed, media and duplex
sensing logic. To aid network diagnostics the
device incorporates LES's on the back plate
and supports Hot-Plugging.

Madge 16/4 CardBus
Adapter Mk2 (20-03)

The Madge 16/4 Mbps CardBus adapter is designed
to support the PCMCIA architecture for installation
into compatible laptop computers. The device
is another high performance card from Madge,
and provides the mobile worker a level of Token
Ring performance very similar to that attainable
over a PCI architecture Approximately the same
size as a credit card, it provides an extremely
simple way for the mobile worker to connect
into the office LAN.

The CardBus adapter is a 32-bit device for
improved performance, and supports the latest
power management protocols to help extend the
battery life of a mobile computer. The unit
is installed using the Madge UniDriver software,
and supports a wide range of operating systems,
including Windows, UNIX and OS/2.

The GoCard from market leading Madge
provides superb throughout and parallel-tasking performance
in a card that is extremely easy to install with its
Plug and Play compatibility The card will connect
into a Token Ring network at either 4 or 16 Mbps,
and the speed is easily controllable using the device's
software interface.
