Latest Technology

Fibre to the Cabinet, or FTTC, is the latest consumer and small business broadband technology to be launched in the UK, and runs over a predominately fibre optic network to support Superfast Broadband bandwidths up to 80 Mbps downstream and 20 Mbps upstream.

The FTTC technology has been rolled out extensively across the UK, although the rollout has focused on residential areas, with coverage in many business parks, industrial estates and commercial city centres is relatively sparse.

Where FTTC is available though, our Managed Business FTTC solution is an ideal connectivity solution for smaller businesses or home offices in need of a high performance and cost effective Internet access service.

Lower Your Costs

As a low cost broadband service, the SLA is relatively weak on FTTC when compared to dedicated business services like EFM or Ethernet Fibre. When considering whether FTTC is suitable for your business connectivity solution, and it can be tempting to look only at the favourable cost and performance of the technology and overlook the business impact of a slow response to faults as a result of the SLA.
